Does God Exist?
Although it is impossible to prove that God exists beyond all doubt, it is possible to prove that He exists beyond a reasonable doubt. In fact, it is far easier to prove that God exists than to prove that He does not. Think about it. In order to prove that God does not exist, a person must be able to be in every part of the universe and in every single dimension at the same time. Otherwise, there will always be that one little corner that was not examined. As long as there are places people have not yet looked, there will always be a question about His existence.
But think about this: Why does something exist rather than nothing? Where did all of this come from?
- It is illogical to believe that the universe just always existed. Why? Because the second law of thermodynamics shows us that an eternal universe would have run out of heat energy eons ago. Yet here we are. So there must have been a beginning. Many scientists agree that the beginning is known as the big bang. Inexplicably, all time, space and matter exploded into being. What created it? And what made it explode?
- Because we exist, there must have been something that “caused” us to exist. That something had to think and act independently of this creation. It had to be a being that could exist in and of itself. Otherwise, we end up with an infinite chain of causes going back to infinity. This is impossible and irrational.
- It is illogical to say that everything we see around us happened by accident. If it did, then why is everything so uniform? And why don’t we see more accidents? Why are all trees the same? Why do humans have human babies and not something else? Why don’t animals actually cross kinds as evolution tries to say? There may be many varieties of horses, but they are all horses. Where are those missing links? The Bible tells us that God created each “kind” of plant and animal, and that is exactly what we see today.
